HISTORY
The Moravian Church in Kenya was started by Rev. Paul Kamau Kabaiya who worked with the Moravian Church in Western Tanganyika ("MCWT") and transferred to the Moravian Church Rukwa when it was under the MCWT as a Mission Province from 1972 to 1982. Supervised by the Moravian Church in Tanzania, Western Province.
By that time in Rukwa, Brother Rev. Dr. Jorgen Boytler worked in Kasangu as a missionary and Rev. Paul K. Kabaiya was the Principal of Kilangala Bible School.
Due to the poor health of his parents, Rev. Paul K. Kabaiya was permitted by the Provincial Board of the MCWT to relocate to Kenya and stay with his parents. With Bishop I.R. Nicodemo’s consent, Rev. Paul K. Kabaiya started The Moravian Church Kenya Mission in September 2002.
